NC: Lawmakers Eye Regulating Well Users

The Big Brother march continues on. I've heard they already do it out West. The scarey thing is, they could put automatic shutoffs on your well when you try to take more than you are "allowed". They would figure out how big your place is and how many members in your family and you get "x" gallons per week. Of course you would have to pay to have the meter and monitoring allowed.

But the U.N. also has it's eyes on $. So they would consider groundwater as part of the world commons and would tax you with the money going to the U.N. They have talked about that in the past. The U.N. desperately wants to have a world tax for different things to fund their operations.

Of course this incidence I believe is more because of drought and monitoring. But that is only the first step. Once that line is crossed it just provides the further reasoning for them to be able to control/tax your groundwater.

Raleigh, N.C. — State lawmakers are considering a proposal that would require homeowners and businesses that use private wells to report on how much water they consume.

A special legislative committee is expected to present a list of ideas to Gov. Mike Easley, who could push for drought legislation on various fronts during the General Assembly's short session, which begins in May.

About 40 percent of North Carolina residents use private wells, and their water use is an unknown variable for state officials trying to develop accurate models to manage water resources during the ongoing drought.............

Grady Poole's family has dug wells for decades, and he said many of his customers put wells in specifically to keep the government out of their lives.

"They want to rely only on themselves and not have to depend on government to take care of them," Poole said. "If you have a private well, you should be able to use it at your discretion when you want it, how you want it."
You're goddam right.

But Georgiann Fonte, who gets her water through Raleigh's municipal system and has had to curb her gardening because of tight water restrictions, said regulating well users is a matter of fairness.

"All of us have to conserve. If we don't, we may not have drinking water or bathing water," Fonte said. "I would think they'd want to conserve just for the fact they won't want their wells to run dry."
Have a well dug, lady, and stfu.

Control of the water supply is obviously part of the NWO's overall plan. They are pushing for this sort of thing here in Canada too and we have more water than we need up here. Of course that won't stop them telling the public that there is a water shortage looming and that something needs to be done about it. I have also heard that some of the new rural houses being built here in Alberta have water meters installed when the well is drilled.

Just another instance for which we will all be considered law breakers.

I hope I can get way out of town before this kind of crap starts to happen here in Texas.

This has gotten very popular. Like anything else, they tried it somewhere and got away with it, now they incrementally continue to set precedence.

It's mainly an additional way of tracking rural people IMO.

I am deadset against this. It is such a shame because there is no refuge from statism in this country anymore; so many people have fled New Jersey for North Carolina only to find an insatiable government here.

Thanks for the tip, I did not see this before.

I'm sorry to report that there are some big instances in Texas for some degree of control making sense

Clayton Williams, one time gubanatorial candidate, has dried up other people's springs, wells, and streams in several counties pumping huge amounts of water out of the common aquifer to grow alfalfa in the desert.

A fish or shrimp farm (can't recall which) did similar horrific damage pumping an aquifer dry near San Antonio.

Control needs to be reasonable, but no one has the right to deprive everyone else for miles around of water doing something water intensive in dry country.

Private civil suits might be a better avenue, or very broad guidelines. But no regulation at all can harm thousands for the benefit of one.

They started recording wells here in TN a few years ago. I had one drilled here at the house ( I normally use a gravity fed spring ) and when the drill company owner came out, I showed him where I wanted the well. He recorded the GPS location.

Then when the driller crew came, I said "Yeah....Up here is where I want the well"..pointing to the bright red stake the drill company owner put out, which "somehow" got moved ....about 200yds from the GPS location.

Once they drilled it, they put a "State of TN....DO NOT REMOVE" sticker on the casing sticking out of the ground.....then packed up their rig and left.

OK. So, I took my backhoe, dug a 4' pit around the casing, cut off about 6' of casing, sticker and all still attached, (hey...it said "don't remove"....not "don't cut the casing off"..ahahahah ) built a block 'basement' for the well to sit in, piped it in the house, put a salt treated wood w/stainless steel sheet cover on the 'basement' and covered the whole thing up. What well ?

Took the 6' pc of well casing back down where the GPS location says it is, and planted that sucker. Fine, State of TN.....come slap a water meter on it....ahahahahahaaa......see how 'well' that works...........

GO thou and do likewise.

Two very simple words describe my installation:
PRIVATE WELL
It's mine, my water comes out of it, and that is all there is to it.
non-negotiable.

Unfortunately, you don't really own property if it can be taxed, because if it can be taxed, it can be taken from you for failure to pay the tax. Since it's really just the government's land that you rent for a time (in effect) then they can meter that water and regulate it if they like.

Reminds me of what Edward Abbey said:

"If you refuse to pay unjust taxes, your property will be confiscated. If you attempt to defend your property, you will be arrested. If you resist arrest, you will be clubbed. If you defend yourself against clubbing, you will be shot dead. These procedures are known as the Rule of Law."

I think there is a water well drill for home use, the company was called "Deep Rock"

This has been in the local news. I just heard about it a few days ago. I live in this drought stricken area. We are in bad shape but well water has nothing to do with it. The triangle area builders went wild building thousands of new homes with no regard to infrastructure. The schools and hospitals are in equally bad shape.

The drought is just an excuse to get their hands into wells while this is a hot topic.

I am part of a very strong and vocal environmental group. One of the leaders of that group is a representative from the Clean Water foundation. At the moment they are up their eyeballs in a fight against a Bio-hazard defense lab but I am going to call her today anyway.

This is an issue that needs to be addressed pronto on a local level before they sneak it in.

Here is a link to the DC phone numbers and email addresses to the NC Representatives. Please take a few minutes to call and email. I have spent a lot of time harassing a few of these Representatives and Senators over the years and they do listen. Calls and emails do make a difference.

Yes, sadly NC suffers from elite statists in the state house. They give illegals licenses don't they?

When I pass by the DMV there is a line wrapped around the front of the building. This is everyday.

Senator Burr was pushing the Amnesty Bill. I wrote him a nasty letter. He sent back a return letter that freaked me out. It was admitting his participation in the NAU.[he called it the SPP] He didn't even bother to lie. He got so many harassing calls he changed his vote but he is a SNAKE....

Proverbs 5:15
Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well.
